Grease trap management for Bermuda's commercial kitchens.

Stay compliant with BS 5520:2017. Stay operational. Leave the FOG to us.

For commercial kitchens, restaurants, and food production facilities, managing Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) isn't just a best practice—it's a strict regulatory mandate. Unmanaged grease traps cause structural pipeline failure, back-ups, and heavy government fines. Bright Bins provides automated, scheduled grease trap extraction, sanitisation, and waste auditing compliance records to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

Regulatory Requirements (BR 5/2017)

Under Bermuda's Public Health (Fats, Oils and Grease Removal) Regulations 2017 (BR 5/2017), every commercial and institutional food preparation business in Bermuda is legally required to install, operate, and maintain an approved grease trap or interceptor — and to clean it regularly.

The Department of Health Standard: You must clean your interceptor before Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) and solids reach 25% of the interceptor's liquid depth. Frequency is volume-based: high-volume kitchens (such as busy restaurants or resort hotels) will hit this threshold monthly, while lower-volume operations (small cafes, light prep kitchens) might require quarterly cleaning. Every clean must be documented, scheduled, and completed by a competent provider.
